Directed Pickup allows you to retrieve a call ringing on another telephone. This feature is arranged in advance when a scenario exists where a user knows that it would be convenient or necessary to retrieve calls ringing on another telephone.
To afsssign a Directed Pickup Extension:
- Select the User Information tab, and then click the Directed Pickup button.
- Select one of the available directed pickup extensions from the Directed Pickup One-touch Settings list.
- Enter the telephone extension that you want to retrieve calls from in the extension field.
- Enter a descriptive name in the Comment field.
- Click Apply.
There are three ways pickup a call ringing on another telephone using Directed Pickup:
- Press the Feature Code button, enter feature code 455 and then dial the user's extension.
- Press the Feature Code button and then enter the directed pickup extension. This is assigned using the Directed Pickup screen as described below.
- Press an Access button assigned with a one-touch directed pickup code. Your administrator must assign one of the Access buttons as a one-touch directed pickup for your telephone. See the One-touch Speed Dials screen in NetSet.
Notes on Directed Pickup:
- You can only retrieve a call ringing on another user's telephone only if that user and you are both members of the same Call Pickup group, or that user is a member of a Call Pickup group that allows "non-member pickup." You can view which group(s) you are a member of through the Call Pickup screen in NetSet
- If the administrator has allowed One-touch Directed Pickups, they will be ready to use as soon as you assign telephone extensions to them using the above instructions.
